How this all started...

Hi! I'm Lisa. I am a full-time career woman and mom, and a doodler/business owner in my free time. Starting a stickers and stationery shop was just an idea that I toyed around with while on mat-leave in 2020, so I started researching on how to start a small business. It wasn't until November 2021 that I finally decided to turn this idea and dream into a reality. Being the fly-by-the-seat-of-my-pants kind of planner I am, I gave myself a week to come up with a handful of products to sell and set up my Etsy shop (which is still open to this day). I spent every night of that week doodling on my 16GB Hwawei tablet (that we usually used as a baby monitor). Needless to say, I have since upgraded to something that doesn't crash or freeze ever other pen stroke (thank you hubs!<3). On Thursday, November 25th, SMALLPAPERSTARZ was born.

Why SMALLPAPERSTARZ?

Anybody that knows me, knows I am biased towards anything star-shaped. When I was a child, I loved making those little paper stars that was all the hype. I used to go to my local Chinatown toy store to buy those cute strips of paper that had Hello Kitty and other cute characters on it. This is one inspiration to the name. The other is that I'm a SMALL business owner, that makes stationery items out of PAPER based materials, and I love STARZ. The Z was because I wanted to be cool and unique BD...hehehe...*ahem*

Who is SMALLPAPERSTARZ?

As of right now, it is just me and my hubs. I spend my time creating products, updating the site, and packing orders. He is my IT, and Chief Procurement Officer. lol.
